A reading app usually implies that you will find it in stores and need to install it on your tablet or phone. That is not the case with Lexie. Lexie is what you call a PWA - progressive web application. This means it works in browsers and has the ability to be installed on your device. That way, it will have the look and feel of a mobile app. It means you will be able to use Lexie as a mobile reading app on tablets, phones and even computers.

One of the benefits of Lexie is you don’t need to download it and install it. Just create your account in a couple of quick steps, and you’re good to go. Another great thing is that you can access your library with e-books and documents on any of your devices. This way you have the best of your reading app and e-book library and management on a single platform.

Next to that, there are some additional benefits of adding Lexie to your device. For one, Lexie will get its separate browser. On tablets and phones, that means you’ll be able to switch between apps or using a browser easier. Another great benefit is that you won’t have an address bar, which is there on other web apps. So you’ll get more of your screen and fewer distractions when reading.

For each browser, you have a slightly different approach.

In Chrome, while on the tab where you have Lexie loaded:

1. Go to the Menu of your browser
2. Click where it says Install Lexie
3. Confirm with your browser
4. And it is done :)

For Safari users, it looks a bit different. On your iOS or iPadOS device, choose the Share up-arrow at the bottom of the screen, and select Add to Home Screen.

Edge users should go to the Apps section of the Menu and select Install.

After that, you’ll be able to start it as any other app by clicking on an icon.
